What will I receive as part of the Betsy’s Bricks franchise system?

We will provide a two-phase initial training program at your location. The first phase will last up to five days and will coincide with the delivery of your processing equipment, with hands-on instruction covering machine operations, maintenance issues, proper materials preparation, handling, storage and other operational procedures. The second phase of initial training will last up to five days, during your initial month of operations, and will focus primarily on marketing and administrative issues. As a franchise owner, you will have access to all of Betsy’s Bricks’ trademarks, proprietary equipment and packaging, and our exclusive business model and procedures. We’ll also present you with a copy of our confidential operations manual to help you run your business properly on a day-to-day basis.

What type of prior experience do I need to have?

Betsy’s Bricks franchise owners must have a general appreciation for or a basic understanding of the “green” alternative fuel movement. We expect franchise owners to fit into one of two distinct franchisee profiles: farmers and investors. Whether you own a farm with cattle or horses and are looking for an additional revenue stream, or if you will locate your equipment and facility in an area with farmers that own livestock, we will provide the training and tools you need to run your business effectively. In general, we are seeking franchise candidates who have basic mechanical, business and computer skills; who are able to market the product to local retailers; and who have a strong work ethic and a high energy level. We also expect that franchise owners have adequate capital to invest in the business.

How much will the Betsy’s Bricks franchise investment cost me?

The projected initial investment range for a single start-up location is between $483,612 and $530,707; this investment amount includes a franchise fee of $50,000. As with any new business venture, it’s important that you have the capital needed to adequately fund your new business.

Are there other ongoing fees paid to the franchisor?

Franchisees will be required to pay royalties at a rate of 15% of gross sales. These royalties allow us to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of products and procedures, marketing tools, training programs, and systems upgrades.

Are there any advertising fees?

Franchisees will be required to spend $500 or 2% of gross sales whichever is greater, per month on local marketing. Franchisees will also be required to pay a lump sum, one-time contribution to the brand development fund and make ongoing contributions to the fund during the term of the franchise agreement. The one-time contribution will be in the amount of $20,000 (in addition to franchise fee) and is payable upon installation of the manure processing pellet machine and completion of the first phase of initial training. Upon commencement of operations, franchisees will be required to pay 2% of gross sales into the brand development fund. Collected funds will be used to develop marketing strategies to promote the Betsy’s Bricks brand and fund the creative costs to develop any local franchise marketing materials and campaigns.

Is financing available?

We do not offer direct financing to franchisees. We may be able to provide references to qualified financing or lending resources, on a case-by-case basis.

What is the term of the franchise agreement?

The initial term of your franchise agreement is ten years, with two subsequent renewal terms of five years each.
